Finally a DVD-Audio worth buying has arrived. The price on this was the same as a CD so It is a great intro for any metal lovers foray into DVD-audio.

First off this is playable in 2.0 stereo, 5.1 or a Magnificent DTS 5.1. The entire album has been remixed and re-mastered to fit perfectly into a new 5.1 mix. While the original was not too poorly produced after listening to this I don't think I can ever go back. The mix is so full and to actually hear the guitar solos migrate through the speakers is so fantastic.

The interview is very informative and interesting to see what they were thinking when the album was recorded. But the big bonus here is the Devil's Island break down . You can shuffle through 6 different audio tracks on this song to hear it in different stages. The various track you can hear are: Drums and Bass; Drums, Bass and Rhythm Guitars; Drums, Bass and Chris Poland's Guitar; Drums, Bass and Dave Mustaine's Guitar; No Drums; Final Mix. This is just plain interesting.

If you like this album and want to hear what DVD-Audio is capable of this is the one you must buy. I look forward to any future releases like this.
