"Fans Rule" Documentary

At long last Slayer's live DVD comes out. This is the first Slayer DVD and only the second live video for the band. The performance was dead on this night and it shows.

The live songs presented are both filmed and recorded very well. The sound is good in both stereo and 5.1. The problem comes in that between all the songs they cut to clips from the "fans rule" documentary. This makes it extremely difficult to watch just the concert. This could have been fixed with a simple option to not watch the in-between clips. It doesn't help that the documentary feature "fans" that should shame almost any metal listener. There is no insight into this documentary other than realizing just how much some people crave attention.

The video of bloodline is really a treat, since it is the fully uncut version. The making of segment is short but still interesting to watch. The Documentary, as stated before is useless and would have been better left off of the DVD.

The bottom line is that if you can ignore the interruptions between songs, the concert is excellent.
