A few years ago Rage did a tour with the Lingua Mortis Orchestra. This tour was thankfully captured on film. This DVD-plus release feature DVD video on one side and a bonus Audio CD portion on the reverse side.

The concert itself is a once in a lifetime event. Peavy has already stated that they will most likely never tour with the Orchestra again. The tour was not very many date to begin with so it is really a treat to be able to watch this special event on DVD. The audio and video quality is very good. The audio is only presented in stereo. The stage is filled with a full orchestra who seem to be full of energy playing the Rage songs. There is even a real Aborigine present to play the didgeridoo. The songs are all present with their full orchestra formats, but the live presentation just seems more full and powerful. And seeing all those people play these excellent Rage tunes is just amazing.

The 3 videoclips are from the Gun era album and was also the first time I was able to see these videos. They are interesting and entertaining, not to mention probably the only place you will ever see them. The flip side of the DVD features 12 CD audio tracks from b-sides and Japanese releases. For many these would be worth the price alone, bit in addition to the full concert it makes the package all that much sweeter.

The bottom line is this is a must have for all Rage fans. Also anyone who wants to see what good collaboration between metal and classical looks like this is the best commercially available source.
