This is the brand new DVD from German thrash icons Kreator. A very long awaited release for many Kreator Fans. This is their first full live video since 1987, and the wait was more than worth it.
First we have the concert. The main concert is actually a combination of 2 shows. They mix songs from the Brazil and Korea shows. The downside is that the flow of the concert is slightly broken up by this, but it is not enough to ruin the video. The picture quality is top-notch and the sound is phenomenal. The camera work is excellent, in that they are sure to keep the camera moving, but stay on the musicians long enough to see what they are doing. Again I must re-iterate the sound is fantastic. The 5.1 track is on par with last years Megadeth DVD release and will have you and your neighbors feeling as if you were really there.
The two bonus live songs are featured only in stereo sound but are a nice addition to the DVD, and they let you see these classics performed live as well. The documentary starts with Kreator's formation and follows through the present. They even managed to find a good clip of Kreator's first live performance on television. As the documentary progresses through the years they show the video clips in sequential order. Many of these video clips I have never seen on television, and finally seeing them in DVD quality was fantastic. Several of the later video, while strange, have excellent production values and are worth watching even for non-Kreator fans.
The bottom line is; if you are a Kreator fan, you should own this, if not this is an excellent introduction to Kreator's vast legacy or work. There is also a CD of this concert, which includes a few extra songs. It is an excellent CD and equally recommended.
