The first chapter of the new saga by Rhapsody. The Dark Secret Saga takes Rhapsody's songwriting skills to new heights. Through the mists of heavy choirs and massive over production Rhapsody concentrate more on song writing on this album then ever before. This album definitely focuses less on musicianship than the Rhapsody of old. Tracks like Never Forgotten Heroes and Erian's Mystical Rhymes showcase these somewhat newfound talents. As for pure classical heaviness and musicianship there is plenty of that too. On songs like Unholy Warcry and Sacred Power Of Raging Winds. Though some may find it pompous Rhapsody have crafted a genuine medevil esque story of you guessed it. Dragons and Warriors. But would a story line without Dragons and Warriros be a Rhapsody story line? I think the answer is pretty clear. To tell the story Rhapsody use the vocal talents of Christopher Lee star of such films like Star Wars Episode's I and II. My one problem with this record is that the narration seems to never go away and crops up at some of the worst places. Namely during the middle of Unholy Warcry but that's just one example. However, regardless of needing too much narration to tell a somewhat complicated story the music on this album is top notch and superb and would be a welcome addition to any fan of Rhapsody's new or old.
Key Tracks: Unholy Warcry, Never Forgotten Heroes, Erian's Mystical Rhymes, Guardiani Del Destino.
