This CD is a split of Power & Pain and Ticket, if you couldn't tell. :)

Whiplash is a little unknown thrash act out of the USA, and they named themselves Whiplash because that is just what their music gives you! ha, OK, maybe that isn't the reason. They play thrash metal the way it was meant to be played. Fast, Loud, Aggressive, and Ugly. The band isn't going out of it's way to play something technical, they're not trying to work on great singing, hell, their singing is far from great..or even good! But it does the job with this music. The vocals match the raw and ugly sound that the guitars, drums and bass play very well. For someone looking for some nice clean easy to listen to music or vocals then this isn't your band. If you want raw power then this is the band for you.

The album starts out with the speedy "Stage Dive" A fast paced ass kicker that will make you headbang enough to break your neck. When I first heard this song I knew I was going to be in for a great listening experience. "Red Bomb" is a little hard to really get into from the start because of all the slow-to-fast parts in the first minute and a half. The song really doesn't pick up until around the 2 minute mark when they finally decide on what speed they want to play at for more than 10 seconds. "Last Man Alive" is a lot better with it's catchy drums. Other good songs on this classic album are: "Warmonger," "Spit on Your Grave," "Nailed To The Cross," "Last Nail in the Coffin," and "Snake Pit" All great songs that are full of raw aggression....oh wait, all the songs on here are like that, hehe. But those are what I feel are the best of the group on this disc.
