LeGrand Haughton of Halls Tainted Red, a one man tech death metal band from Philadelphia, announced that he will be making a mini multi part horror film featuring all the music from the upcoming album "Mind of a Gentleman"; his first released project to be released in 2011. "I want to hit these fuckers in the mouth. Im starting to film now. I'm sick of bands just making countless EPs and not getting anywhere. I had to start off with an album or I couldn’t live being a metal musician. These videos/movie is going to really separate me from a lot of other artist. This is good for me but bad for them." When asked about the concept behind the videos he stated that he has a idea that he is focusing on and gave a hint: "The album is called 'Mind of a Gentleman', basically it is going to be a mind-fuck and creepy as hell. I have to get some decent stuff on Youtube and help my fan base grow."

Halls Tainted Red (HTR) is a one-man band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that started in 2005. Fronted by LeGrand Haughton, who composes songs in Technical Death Metal styling’s. This genre of music is best recognized by its brutal sound and high technical skill required of musicians who play.

Halls Tainted Red's music is written and performed exclusively by LeGrand. A drum machine handles the percussive and bass sections of the music, while LeGrand plays the guitar and sings. The music combines highly technical aspects of the death metal genre : blast beats on drums, death growl vocals, and fast alternate picking on the guitar. In the summer of 2009 LeGrand played shows to promote the release of HTRs debut album, Mind of a Gentlemen. One of which was played at the Crocodile Rock in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Eve came together when brothers Brian (guitar/vocals) and Kyle Gamblin
(guitar/backup vocals) decided to start their own musical project in
2008 after the departure of previous projects. The line up of Titans Eve
was completed with the recruitment of Jesse Hord (bass) and Casey Ory
(drums), from there the Vancouver-based band have set out to create
honest, powerful modern metal and have repeatedly piled into the “Titan
Train” (i.e. their 2007 Ford E-350 van) and traveled across Canada,
bringing their music to as great an audience as possible. They’ve played
over 80 shows in the past year and a half and 2011 will see them travel
further than ever before as tour dates will be announced for Canada,
the U.S. and Europe.

Scythia Premiere Red Wizard Mini-Series On Blank TV

Vancouver folk metallers Scythia, fresh from returning home from
their "Exiled Across Canada Tour" in support of their debut release
"...Of War", have announced they will be premiering on Blank TV their 5
part Red Wizard mini-series that they filmed via an iPhone while on the
road.

The miniseries follows the band while on tour stops across multiple
Canadian cities and tells the story of Scythia's encounters with the
evil Red Wizard.

"We came up with idea while we had a few days off on the tour and
were visiting sites in various cities we performed in. Scott our
keyboardist had his iPhone so it came in perfectly handy to do the
videos. We hope the fans like it and have a good laugh." comments

The Webzine elements of the Raging Metal website have now been closed & archived.

We are no longer accepting new contributions, contributors or staff members!

Rage Radio On Demand will remain, with new shows planned for the future, under the new radio show title of ¨Raging Fury¨ replacing ¨The Master's Metal Mix¨. The new show will tailor to a more mainstream Rock/Metal/Alternative audience, whilst retaining some of the charm of the old ¨Master's Metal Mix¨ series.

With regards to future plans, Raging Metal is to take on a new Blog format, for articles & assorted Metal related musings from the Raging Metal owner. There will also be tighter integration with Social Networking sites, with Blog postings available to a variety of different platforms.

Up to date Metal & Rock News Headlines, from our Metal Echo section, will remain online as the focal point of our modified Front Page.

Vancouver progressive folk metal band Scythia have
announced their "Exiled Across Canada" tour dates set to kick off in
Victoria, BC on Sept 24th. The six man & woman contingent will be
echoing their thundering tunes over the following six weeks across
Canada.

Blending epic storytelling with modern progressive metal to create an
interesting dynamic that includes an oboe of death and classical violin.
Scythia's ancient and medieval influenced melodies will bring the past
back to the present as they ready to brandish their swords and prepare
for tour in support of their upcoming release "...Of War" produced by
Shaun Thingvold who has engineered on projects with SYL, Fear Factory,
Darkest Hour and many more.

“Folk music is definitely more ambient, pure, and beautiful. Metal is
intense, raunchy, and driving. The use of both in songs, combined with
dynamic contouring, has the ability to take the listener on the kind of

US metal band KILLING MACHINE who made their European debut last week with two shows supporting AC/DC in France, have added a further festival to their busy summer European schedule with an appearance confirmed at the Foire Aux Vins Festival www.foire-colmar.com in Colmar, France on Saturday 14th August 2010.

Foire Aux Vins is a unique festival based around music and the wine which is produced in the locality. One of the countries premier events of it's kind, Foire Aux Vins runs from 6-15 August and has an eclectic musical programme. The main highlights of this years rock and metal day on 14th August are Soulfly, Saxon, Europe and Alice Cooper.

Things have been relatively quiet on the site front for a while. �So just an update to let people know that some changes are in the works and we're still alive.

The Rage Radio Podcast has once again been fixed and will resume. �New radio shows are in the works.

The Pub Archives are now online. �These are the archives of Raging Metal's old Forums, retaining all old posts on the vBulletin & original UBB forum software. �It has archived all members & posts/topics/threads, from it's closure in March 2009 and going right back to it's launch in September 2001.

For the time being, some minor cosmetic changes have been made to the site's design. �The new site theme is nicknamed "V6 Frostbite", basically going for a more classic "Raging Metal" colder look, reducing the amount of garish red throughout the site & darkening some fonts to make it easier on the eye overall. �Over the next few days, the site's logo, plus other site graphics will be undergoing some minor makeovers too.

But the changes do not end there...

THE SMASHUP hailing from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2003. THE
SMASHUP have toured on Warped Tour, Taste of Chaos, Gigantour &
also with Deftones, Thrice, As I Lay Dying, Megadeth, Lamb of God,
Opeth, Story of the Year, Funeral for a Friend, 3 Colours Red, Atreyu,
Love Hate Hero, Thursday, From Autumn to Ashes, Bleed The Dream &
more.

Vin Alfieri (guitar/founder) - "This has been my main
project for a handful of years. I also write and produce music for film
and television - with many published songs in
films such as Daredevil, Ghost Rider, American Pie Series, Epic Movie,
Meet
the Spartans, Final Destination 4, Jumper, Alvin and the Chipmunks
(performed all the music and wrote considerable amount), which went
platinum in the US and soundtrack also won an American Music Award last
year. Currently just finished Alvin sequel and full soundtrack which
will be released worldwide via Warner Brothers". THE SMASHUP have had
tracks on the movies Saw 3, Masters of Horror and Feast as well on
tracks on The Best Of Taste of Chaos volume 1 and 2.

Additionally,
Sean Cuthbert (vocals) previously performed in the bands The
Resurrection and Year of Confession - both bands performed shows with
Unearth, All The Remains, Shai Halud, Trivium, The Sleeping, It Dies
Today.

THE SMASHUP's latest serving was produced & mixed by
Andrew Schneider (Pelican, Cave In, The Ocean) at New York's Translator
Audio Studios, Brooklyn. As a band they draw influence from Trail of
the Dead, Nine Inch Nails, Dillinger Escape Plan, Underoath, Moneen and
of course some older influences such as Pink Floyd, Iron Maiden, Black
Sabbath, Black Flag, Faith No More & Incubus.

The new
record, entitled 'The Sea and The Serpents Beneath', is based around a
theme of life struggles that hopefully, most people will be able to
relate to, and also a little short story of an epic sea journey gone
astray.

THE SMASHUP have had video rotation on FUSEtv and MTV2
on the last record cycle - currently doing a new video with Dave
Brodsky (Suicide Silence, Black Dhalia Murder) for "Set Loose Black
Sail"

The band toured the UK when they released "Untreatable" on Mighty Atom
Records a few years back and were well received. The band really love to play
in the UK, and are planning on doing as much as they can overseas.

THE SMASHUP pride themselves on their energetic stage performance – one that has
people talking after a show regardless of how they feel about the music.
While the music is always at the forefront of our performance, we
appreciate
the value of connecting with an audience both visually and emotionally
as well. In addition, a willingness to step in and out of boundaries,
displaying an array of different moods, sounds, and emotions is
well-represented in the upcoming release.
