Things have been relatively quiet on the site front for a while. �So just an update to let people know that some changes are in the works and we're still alive.

The Rage Radio Podcast has once again been fixed and will resume. �New radio shows are in the works.

The Pub Archives are now online. �These are the archives of Raging Metal's old Forums, retaining all old posts on the vBulletin & original UBB forum software. �It has archived all members & posts/topics/threads, from it's closure in March 2009 and going right back to it's launch in September 2001.

For the time being, some minor cosmetic changes have been made to the site's design. �The new site theme is nicknamed "V6 Frostbite", basically going for a more classic "Raging Metal" colder look, reducing the amount of garish red throughout the site & darkening some fonts to make it easier on the eye overall. �Over the next few days, the site's logo, plus other site graphics will be undergoing some minor makeovers too.

But the changes do not end there...

Prophet, lead vocalist of US Thrash Metal band St. Madness has released a (mostly) acoustic solo album, titled 'The Edge,' and recorded as PROPHET & THE COWBOYS OF APOCALYPSE. 'The Edge' has a distinctly Outlaw Southern Rock vibe, lyrically touching on subjects ranging from 'dear to the heart' to 'horror comedy'. 'The Edge' also features musical and vocal additions from some great, guest artists.

Innerfate new work

Innerfate is a band formed partially by three ex-members of Forever Slave. They just recorded new songs for our work "Unleashed", which you can listen to on their MySpace our download here.

The band was formed after three main members of Forever Slave found themselves forced to leave their band after 5 years of continuous work and dedication. Five years during which they composed most of the music, recorded two albums and had the immense honor of playing at Wacken Open Air, Metal Female Voices Fest and tour around Europe with Kamelot and Firewind.
The three musicians are then joined by Mara (ex-singer of Gal�ctika, collaborations with Y3K and Paral.lel 84) and Kike, a talented bassist.
The band is recording a video for their new single "Circles of Despair".

At the moment they're looking for a label and booking angents.

NEVERBORNE write adrenaline-soaked metal that combines melody & brutality, harmony and chaos, hope & despair.

NEVERBORNE, originally hailing from South Africa, now reside in Surrey (UK), and their 5 track debut EP 'In Absence Of Fear' was produced at Surrey's THIN ICE STUDIOS by Karl Groom (Dragonforce, Hammerfall).

South Africa's most prolific rock DJ over the past 2 decades, Barney Simon, has been consistently playing tracks from 'In The Absence Of Fear' on his weekly rock show on Tuks FM.

THE SMASHUP hailing from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2003. THE
SMASHUP have toured on Warped Tour, Taste of Chaos, Gigantour &
also with Deftones, Thrice, As I Lay Dying, Megadeth, Lamb of God,
Opeth, Story of the Year, Funeral for a Friend, 3 Colours Red, Atreyu,
Love Hate Hero, Thursday, From Autumn to Ashes, Bleed The Dream &
more.

Vin Alfieri (guitar/founder) - "This has been my main
project for a handful of years. I also write and produce music for film
and television - with many published songs in
films such as Daredevil, Ghost Rider, American Pie Series, Epic Movie,
Meet
the Spartans, Final Destination 4, Jumper, Alvin and the Chipmunks
(performed all the music and wrote considerable amount), which went
platinum in the US and soundtrack also won an American Music Award last
year. Currently just finished Alvin sequel and full soundtrack which
will be released worldwide via Warner Brothers". THE SMASHUP have had

THE SMASHUP's latest serving was produced & mixed by
Andrew Schneider (Pelican, Cave In, The Ocean) at New York's Translator
Audio Studios, Brooklyn. As a band they draw influence from Trail of
the Dead, Nine Inch Nails, Dillinger Escape Plan, Underoath, Moneen and
of course some older influences such as Pink Floyd, Iron Maiden, Black
Sabbath, Black Flag, Faith No More & Incubus.

The new
record, entitled 'The Sea and The Serpents Beneath', is based around a
theme of life struggles that hopefully, most people will be able to
relate to, and also a little short story of an epic sea journey gone
astray.

THE SMASHUP have had video rotation on FUSEtv and MTV2
on the last record cycle - currently doing a new video with Dave
Brodsky (Suicide Silence, Black Dhalia Murder) for "Set Loose Black
Sail"

The band toured the UK when they released "Untreatable" on Mighty Atom
Records a few years back and were well received. The band really love to play
in the UK, and are planning on doing as much as they can overseas.

THE SMASHUP pride themselves on their energetic stage performance – one that has
people talking after a show regardless of how they feel about the music.
While the music is always at the forefront of our performance, we
appreciate
the value of connecting with an audience both visually and emotionally
as well. In addition, a willingness to step in and out of boundaries,

Ex Obituary/Six Feet Under guitarist joins LUSTMORD

Allen West most notably of Obituary, Six Feet Under, and recently Lowbrow has agreed to appear on the new LUSTMORD album.

Allen is currently in an un named band with Marco from BloodWraith, Dave from Jungle Rot, and Rock Rollain from LUSTMORD and is working on getting that project off the ground. While the new demo is being mixed and recorded Allen has graciously agreed to record some leads and a couple of guest tracks on the new full length album from LUSTMORD.

Phoenix, Arizona extreme metal band, LUSTMORD, welcomes new members ROCK ROLLAIN on bass, and ABEL RODRIGUEZ on Rythm guitar.

KHALO have signed to Glasstone Records!

Since forming in 2006 this 6-piece band from Peterborough, UK have wowed the likes of Radio 1's Deftone's guitarist Daniel P. Carter on the Radio 1 Rock Show, hailed as band of the week, as well as headlining underground festivals abroad, such as Belgium's Horrorfest 2008.

KHALO's music comes across as aggressive, progressive, epic and positive, with a desire for their audience to take something away from a show, so the lyrics are just as important to KHALO as the music. "Our lyrics aren’t just about random things, they are one of the most important things to this band, we love hearing kids sing along at shows, you can feel the passion they have for our music."

KHALO feel they are influenced by many bands. Misery Signals, Darkest Hour, Unearth, Parkway Drive, As I Lay Dying, and Comeback Kid seem to be some of the most prominent, although insist they are not reinventing the wheel, nor tryng to, but trying to write music with the ability to reach out to people the same way their favorite bands have reached out to them through music.

KHALO have played shows with some impressive major acts, most notibly Alexisonfire, UnderOath, Parkway Drive, Misery Signals, Evergreen Terrace, Architects, Cancer Bats, Gallows, Taking Back Sunday, Senses Fail and BMTH.

They are now scheduled to tour with Trigger The Bloodshed & Ingested from May 15th - 29th, and then are on tour with This Is Colour, Martyr Defiled & Shadow Law from July 24th - 31st.

The band will be releasing their new mini-album with Glasstone Records later this year.

Raging Metal 100% Fully Back Online!

At last, we seem to finally have gotten the site 100% back up online and working correctly. Raging Metal lives to fight another day, even a server explosion can not destroy this place, Metal Really Is Raging!

Raging Metal: Major Server Problems

Over the past week, the server which hosted Raging Metal exploded... for the 2nd time. This time, it took out the Hard Disk Drive which hosted Raging Metal and there was no recent backup.

Luckily, however, I did manage to recover practically all of the useful data. There were some corruptions with the forums' database, which are being worked on (the forum though closed, powers the Radio Podcast). There also appears to be a slight problem with the site's layout, which shall be fixed as soon as possible.

So this is just a small update to let our readers know what has been happening.

The California based metal band is back in the saddle after a 4 year hiatus, and this time they're pulling out all the stops. The band was formed in 1994, by Singer/bassist Steev Esquivel, former guitarist Mike Roberts and drummer Paul Hopkins.

Skinlab quickly made a name for itself in the metal scene, with releases such as, Bound, Gagged and Blindfolded, and Revolting Room. In support of these albums the band has toured with the likes of Slayer, Hatebreed, Fear Factory, and Napalm Death.

They are currently in the studio finishing the final tracks to the new album entitled “The Scars Between Us”. The album is scheduled to hit stores on July 7^th, 2009. The band also plans to release a full length DVD. The release date and title of the DVD have not yet been confirmed.

Lead singer Steev Esquivel had this to say about the bands new record deal “We are pleased to announce our signing with Stand and Deliver Records. After spending most of 2008 in negotiations we feel Stand and Deliver is the right home for Skinlab and look forward to releasing this fucking beast of a record on July7th EVERYWHERE!”

“The ink is barely dry on the contract and they already have several great touring opportunities, it great to add a veteran band like Skinlab to our roster, they have a lot to offer.” Says Stand and Deliver Records owner Matt Polena.

Skinlab has also joined forces with Red Rocket Entertainment. TKO Booking Agency, and Jagermeister.

Stand and Deliver Records is an indie record label located in Cleveland, Ohio. Their current distribution is handled by Uprising/Sony Red, and all digital distribution is taken care of by The Orchard.

Raging Metal - The Pub closes!

It is with great regret that we must inform everybody, that Raging Metal's long-serving Metal & general discussion forums "The Pub" have now closed down forever!

The activity level on the forums had declined to insufficent levels over the past 6 months and we felt that it was no longer worth the excess drain on the server, to keep the forums alive. As of today, the forums were removed completely from the server and all links on the site, eradicated.

There were some great times on the forums over the years and in it's heyday it was a lively, booming community, with many great personalities, who will all be sadly missed.

Whopping V6 News Update & More...

Well, after over a year of work and preparation, it's finally here - the V6 theme of our site. Brand new massively revamped sections of the site, with a simplified Navigation menu. Over the next few days we shall be making tweaks to the layout and fixing some inevitable bugs etc. But otherwise, we're damn near fully functional.

The new design and new sections are not all though, we are proud to present the launch of our 3rd Video On Demand channel: Live. This is a channel dedicated to clips from live Metal gigs & festivals and any other miscellaneous Metal items that should crop up in the future.

But again, that's not all, for we have some brand new content. 2 brand new interviews, an interview with Kalmah & an interview with Anthony E. Adkins from Skeleton R.I.P., both interviews conducted by Raging Metal staff member Anthony Lustmord.

We are also pleased to announce the launch of a brand new section - "Tea Break", which can be found in The Entertainment section. Tea Break is a section full of external sites offering little fun/silly quizzes and games to amuse yourself on your tea break.

And finally, we can announce that the newest edition of Rage Radio On Demand's main feature - "The Master's Metal Mix" shall be online sometime this weekend, with new/latest material from the following bands/artists: Sturm Und Drang, Keldian, Unleashed, All That Remains, Disturbed, Bullet For My Valentine, Enslaved, Ross The Boss, The Acacia Strain, Job For A Cowboy, Metal Church, Pyramaze & Stone Gods.
